Times are tough, and groceries aren’t getting any cheaper. But here’s some good news — the government is giving out RM100 under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) programme, and you might just be eligible.
So… Who Gets It?
From 21–31 August 2025, about 22 million Malaysians with MyKad can check if they qualify for the aid. It’s mainly aimed at B40 households, but the fastest way to find out is to just check online. No guessing, no hassle.

How to Check If You’re Eligible
- Head over to the official SARA website.
- Key in your MyKad number.
- The system will instantly tell you whether you’re in.
Easy.
How Do You Spend It?
Here’s the catch: it’s not cold hard cash. Instead, the aid is channeled through the MyKasih Foundation’s “MyKasih” cashless system. Basically, your MyKad becomes your e-wallet. Just swipe at participating stores to pay for essentials.
What Can You Actually Buy?
Don’t think of using it for chips or bubble tea lah — this RM100 is strictly for daily essentials, like:
- Rice, flour, sugar, cooking oil, bread, eggs, milk, baby formula
- Canned food, fresh veggies, fish, meat
- Toiletries and even school supplies
In short: stuff you actually need.

Why It Matters
With prices going up everywhere, even RM100 worth of groceries helps lighten the load. Plus, because it’s tied to necessities, you know the aid is going straight to what matters — your household.
👉 Reminder: The window to check is only until 31 August 2025. Don’t wait until last minute — do a quick check, and you could have RM100 worth of essentials covered this month.
