Marshall is continuing its 60th anniversary tribute to Jimi Hendrix with three new limited-edition releases, bringing the legendary guitarist’s psychedelic visual style to some of the brand’s most recognisable audio products.
The collection includes special versions of the Major V headphones, Emberton III portable speaker and Acton III home speaker, each drawing inspiration from Hendrix’s fascination with space, science fiction, bold colours and distinctive fashion.
Hendrix’s Psychedelic Style Meets Marshall
The Hendrix 60th Anniversary Edition Major V gives Marshall’s foldable on-ear headphones a black finish accented by psychedelic graphics. Purple oil-on-water patterns appear across the inner headband and ear cups, accompanied by an all-seeing eye motif inspired by Hendrix.
That visual treatment continues on the Emberton III, where the purple pattern runs across the sleeve and grille. An all-seeing eye appears on the media control alongside purple LEDs, while the silicone sleeve is individually decorated using a water-transfer printing process, meaning no two units will look exactly alike.
The Acton III takes a different approach, drawing from Hendrix’s love of velvet and silver jewellery. The Bluetooth speaker is wrapped in crushed velvet and paired with a silver control panel, purple knobs and purple LED lighting, with another all-seeing eye stamped onto its side.
The collection celebrates the longstanding connection between Hendrix and Marshall, whose amplifiers became an important part of the guitarist’s distinctive sound during the 1960s.
Marshall has also incorporated black and purple psychedelic patterns, silver detailing and Hendrix-inspired motifs across its wider anniversary design language, referencing everything from his jewellery to his interest in the concept of the “third eye”.
Malaysian pricing and availability for the new Hendrix 60th Anniversary Editions of the Major V, Emberton III and Acton III were not included in the announcement.
