Tourism Malaysia and Spritzer Want You to Swipe Right on Your Next Malaysian Food Adventure

by com-editor

Can’t decide what to eat? Tourism Malaysia and Spritzer are turning that familiar Malaysian dilemma into a reason to explore the country with the latest edition of Air Love Cuti-Cuti: Jom Makan-Makan.

Now in its third year, the campaign puts local food at the centre of domestic travel, encouraging Malaysians to discover new destinations through everything from nasi lemak and chicken rice to curry puffs and apam balik.

The collaboration comes as domestic tourism continues to grow. Malaysia recorded 74.7 million domestic visitors in the first quarter of 2026, up 7.2% from 69.7 million during the same period last year.

Swipe Right on What You Want to Eat

At the heart of the campaign is eatlocal.my, a food discovery platform that borrows the familiar swipe-left-or-right mechanic.

Users can browse through more than 100 Malaysian dishes, swiping right on food that catches their eye and left on those that don’t. The platform then recommends places serving the selected dish within a 15km radius, making the food itself the starting point rather than choosing a restaurant first.

The platform currently covers Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Johor, Perak, Melaka and Sabah, with more states expected to be added in the future.

Users can also check in at featured locations to collect points, which can be redeemed for travel, dining and lifestyle rewards. Participating users will also have opportunities to enter monthly lucky draws for flights to Langkawi.

Air Love Cuti-Cuti: Jom Makan-Makan will continue throughout 2026 with roadshows across participating states and local food-focused travel content. Spritzer is also collaborating with Malaysian artist Bingka on a limited-edition tote bag inspired by local dishes, alongside collectible rewards including a specially designed sun bear plushie.

The campaign forms part of efforts surrounding Visit Malaysia 2026–2027, using Malaysia’s food culture as another way to encourage locals and visitors to discover more of the country.

Those wondering “nak makan apa?” can start swiping on eatlocal.my.
