Marriott International has been ranked No. 2 among large companies on Great Place to Work’s Best Workplaces in Asia list, moving up from third place in 2025.
The latest recognition is based on employee feedback collected through Great Place to Work’s Trust Index survey across 22 eligible Asian markets, including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, India and the Philippines.
The result follows a strong year of workplace recognition for Marriott across the region. A total of 15 markets received Great Place to Work certification for 2026/27, up from 10 the previous year, while eight markets secured places in their respective national rankings.
Malaysia was among those recognised, placing fifth nationally, alongside Singapore and Sri Lanka. Indonesia took the top spot in its national ranking, followed by Vietnam at No. 2, while the Philippines and South Korea both placed fourth.
Marriott also received six special workplace awards across South Korea and India. South Korea was recognised in categories covering women, millennials, senior employees and ESG human rights, while India received recognition for hotels and resorts as well as health and wellness.
Beyond its workplace initiatives, Marriott associates have also contributed to community programmes across Asia Pacific excluding China. More than 180,000 associates contributed over 363,000 volunteer hours during the first half of 2026.
The company has also been expanding employment opportunities for persons with disabilities through training, partnerships and workplace initiatives. Since 2025, Marriott says representation of persons with disabilities across the region has increased by 38%, with notable progress in Australia, Indonesia and India.
The latest No. 2 ranking builds on Marriott’s third-place finish last year and comes as more of its markets across Asia secure Great Place to Work certification and national workplace recognition.
