Xiaomi has officially launched the REDMI Note 17 Series in Malaysia, bringing four new smartphones to the lineup — including the brand’s first-ever Pro Max model.
The range consists of the REDMI Note 17, Note 17 5G, Note 17 Pro 5G and Note 17 Pro Max 5G, with prices starting from RM749 during the launch promotion. Xiaomi is also introducing the REDMI Watch 6 Active, Watch 6 Lite and a new Mist Blue colour for the REDMI Headphones Neo.
A 10,000mAh Battery Leads the REDMI Note 17 Series
Sitting at the top of the range is the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G, which packs Xiaomi’s largest smartphone battery yet at a sizeable 10,000mAh.
It supports 100W HyperCharge alongside 27W reverse charging, allowing the phone to double as a power source for other compatible devices. Under the hood, it runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 platform, while the Note 17 Pro 5G uses the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4.
Durability is another focus for the two Pro models. Both feature IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings, along with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Xiaomi says the pair are also the first smartphones to receive TÜV SÜD’s 5-star Titan Quality Certification across all three certification dimensions.
The more affordable REDMI Note 17 5G and Note 17 still get large 7,700mAh batteries with 45W charging. Both also feature IP65 dust and water resistance and Gorilla Glass 7i.
Two New REDMI Watches Join the Lineup
Xiaomi is also expanding its wearables range with the REDMI Watch 6 Active and Watch 6 Lite.
The Watch 6 Active features a 1.85-inch AMOLED display, an ultra-slim 9.9mm body and up to 18 days of battery life under light usage. It supports Bluetooth calling, heart rate, blood oxygen, stress and sleep tracking, alongside more than 140 sports modes.
The REDMI Watch 6 Lite steps things up with a larger 1.96-inch AMOLED display capable of reaching 1,500 nits peak brightness. It also adds built-in five-system GNSS, allowing users to track outdoor routes without carrying their phone.
For swimmers, the Watch 6 Lite has a 5ATM water-resistance rating and can recognise swimming strokes while tracking metrics such as speed, underwater heart rate changes and SWOLF efficiency. More than 150 sports modes are included, with battery life also rated at up to 18 days under light usage.
Meanwhile, the REDMI Headphones Neo are getting a fresh Mist Blue finish. Features remain familiar, including 42dB Active Noise Cancellation, triple-microphone AI call noise reduction and Hi-Res Audio certification.
Meet Meerqeen at Xiaomi Store TRX
To celebrate the launch, Xiaomi is bringing REDMI Note 17 Series Malaysia Ambassador Meerqeen to Xiaomi Store at The Exchange TRX on 5 September 2026 for its “REDMI Boss for a Day” event.
Customers who pre-ordered a REDMI Note 17 Pro Series device can collect their phones from 10am, while the first 80 eligible customers will receive access to a special meet-and-greet with the actor.
There will also be a lucky draw hosted by Meerqeen, with participation offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Buyers of the Pro models will receive a REDMI Headphones Neo, while REDMI Note 17 5G purchases come with a Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Active. Depending on the model, Xiaomi is also offering extended battery, screen, back-cover and quality warranty coverage, alongside YouTube Premium and Google One benefits.
An additional partnership with Atome offers 0% instalments and an extra RM100 voucher, which can be stacked with existing discounts during the promotional period.
With huge batteries across the range and a Pro Max model joining the family for the first time, the REDMI Note 17 Series continues Xiaomi’s familiar formula of packing increasingly ambitious hardware into the mid-range price bracket.
