NESCAFÉ Serves Over 200,000 Cups of Coffee to Malaysians This Merdeka

For the people working behind the scenes of Malaysia’s Merdeka celebrations, the days leading up to 31 August can mean long hours of preparation. This year, NESCAFÉ stepped in with a familiar pick-me-up: coffee.

As part of its “Ngopi Dulu & Kekal Bersemangat Bersama” initiative, the brand served more than 200,000 coffee beverages throughout the Merdeka period, including to Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) personnel, frontliners, volunteers and Malaysians attending the National Day celebrations.

Keeping TUDM Personnel Fuelled Through Merdeka Preparations

Ahead of the Merdeka Day Air Force showcase, NESCAFÉ partnered with Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM) to support personnel during weeks of preparation.

More than 80,000 servings of coffee were distributed to TUDM personnel and other Merdeka frontliners, including NESCAFÉ Classic, NESCAFÉ 3-in-1 and NESCAFÉ Ready-to-Drink cans.

The brand also refurbished a dedicated recharge corner where personnel can take a break between duties. A new vending machine stocked with Nestlé products will also be placed at Hangar No. 20 Skuadron.

Norkhayati Mohamed Hashini, Business Executive Officer, Coffee at Nestlé Malaysia, shared that the initiative is centred around recognising the everyday determination of Malaysians and giving people a moment to recharge before taking on what comes next.

Another 120,000 Coffees at Dataran Putrajaya

The initiative continued on National Day at Dataran Putrajaya, where another 120,000 NESCAFÉ servings were distributed among frontliners, volunteers and members of the public attending the celebrations.

The selection ranged from NESCAFÉ Classic and Ready-to-Drink cans to PET Spanish Latte, PET Tiramisu Latte and NESCAFÉ Espresso Concentrate.

The Merdeka initiative builds on similar community activations by NESCAFÉ earlier this year, which saw coffee distributed at KLIA Terminal 1, Hospital Sultanah Aminah in Johor Bahru and Hospital Pakar Universiti Sains Malaysia in Kelantan.

Through “Ngopi Dulu & Kekal Bersemangat Bersama”, NESCAFÉ’s message this Merdeka is a simple one: sometimes a quick coffee break is all you need to recharge before getting back to making things happen.
