POCO has introduced the new POCO X8 in Malaysia, with the latest mid-range smartphone putting battery life, durability and a large display at the centre of the experience.
Headlining the device is a massive 8,340mAh battery, accompanied by 67W fast charging, a 6.83-inch 1.5K display and Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor. The POCO X8 will be available locally in White, Black and Orange.
A Battery Built to Go Beyond a Day
The POCO X8 uses a silicon-carbon battery with a claimed capacity increase of 63.2% over its predecessor. POCO says the 8,340mAh battery can deliver more than two days of use on a single charge.
It also supports 67W HyperCharge and 22.5W wired reverse charging, allowing the smartphone to double as a power bank for other compatible devices.
For longer-term use, POCO claims the battery can retain at least 80% of its capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, equivalent to roughly six years of regular usage based on its internal testing. The battery has also received TÜV SÜD 5-star Battery Performance Certification.
Big Screen Meets Serious Durability
Up front is a 6.83-inch 1.5K display capable of reaching up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness across a portion of the screen. TÜV Rheinland eye-care certifications are also included for more comfortable extended viewing.
Durability is another major focus, with the POCO X8 carrying IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K water and dust resistance ratings, while Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects the display.
The phone also introduces POCO’s first Underwater Mode, designed for capturing photos and videos in freshwater. However, POCO notes that the feature does not increase the phone’s water resistance and is limited to specific conditions.
Snapdragon Performance With HyperOS 3
Powering the POCO X8 is the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, built on a 4nm process and paired with an Adreno GPU.
The smartphone runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and features Google Gemini integration alongside Xiaomi HyperIsland. Xiaomi Offline Communication is also supported, allowing compatible devices to make voice calls over distances of up to 1.5km in open environments without conventional network coverage.
The phone also offers up to a 300% volume boost for louder audio playback.
For photography, the POCO X8 features a 50MP main camera with OIS and EIS, accompanied by a 16MP selfie camera. Dual video allows users to record using the front and rear cameras simultaneously.
AI-powered editing features include AI Glare Removal, AI Erase Pro, AI Image Expansion, AI Image Enhancement and AI Beautify.

The POCO X8 will be available at promotional prices from 9 September 2026 through POCO and Xiaomi’s official online channels.
