POCO is stepping further into flagship territory with the launch of the POCO F9 Ultra and POCO F9 Pro in Malaysia, bringing major upgrades across gaming, cameras, battery life and audio.

The new F9 Series features Qualcomm flagship processors, dedicated VisionBoost D8 chips, displays with refresh rates up to 185Hz and POCO’s first 200MP camera system. The brand is also expanding its partnership with Bose, bringing Sound by Bose tuning to both devices.
Built for High-Refresh-Rate Gaming
Sitting at the top of the range, the POCO F9 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, with POCO claiming an AnTuTu score of over 4.16 million.
Both phones also feature a dedicated VisionBoost D8 chipset, enabling Smart Frame Rate of up to 185FPS in supported games. AI Super Resolution can operate alongside the feature to improve image clarity while maintaining smoother motion.
The F9 Series also gets POCO’s WildBoost Engine, a 4,800Hz instant touch sampling rate and 3D IceLoop cooling system. The F9 Ultra can be configured with as much as 1TB of storage.

The displays are similarly performance-focused. Both use 185Hz POCO HyperRGB AMOLED panels, measuring 6.9 inches on the F9 Ultra and 6.59 inches on the F9 Pro.
POCO claims peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits in selected scenarios and as high as 10,000 nits for HDR content. Both phones also feature Xiaomi Vision Care and TÜV Rheinland eye-care certification.
There are some more playful design touches too. The F9 Ultra gets a rear dynamic light for notifications, calls, music and gaming, while the Aurora Green F9 Pro features a luminous rear panel that can glow after exposure to light.
POCO Teams Up With Bose
Audio is another major focus this generation, with both phones featuring speakers jointly tuned using Sound by Bose technology.

The F9 Ultra takes things further with dual stereo speakers and a dedicated subwoofer to create a 2.1-channel audio setup, while the F9 Pro uses dual stereo speakers with a sealed cavity design.
Users can switch between Dynamic and Balanced sound profiles, while a new Game Audio Mode is designed to make directional sounds such as footsteps easier to identify in supported games.
Big Batteries With 100W Charging
The F9 Ultra packs an 8,050mAh silicon-carbon battery, the largest ever fitted to a POCO F Series smartphone, with POCO claiming up to two days of battery life depending on usage.

The smaller F9 Pro gets a 6,330mAh battery.
Both support 100W wired and 50W wireless HyperCharge, as well as up to 27W wired and 22.5W wireless reverse charging for powering compatible devices.
POCO’s First 200MP Camera System
Photography also receives a significant upgrade, with both models featuring POCO’s first 200MP main camera with optical image stabilisation, accompanied by a 32MP selfie camera.
The F9 Ultra adds a 5x periscope telephoto camera, with 10x lossless zoom and up to 20x AI Ultra Zoom.
Meanwhile, the F9 Pro features a 50MP 2.5x floating telephoto camera capable of focusing from as close as 10cm, allowing it to double as a macro camera.
Both devices also support 4K video with automated focus transitions and lens switching through POCO’s Live cinematography features.
