Sunshine Bakeries has expanded its KOMUGI GOLD range with the launch of the new KOMUGI GOLD Hojicha Loaf, a limited-edition bread inspired by the rich, roasted flavours of Japanese hojicha tea.
Available from 5 August 2026, the new loaf is made with premium Japanese wheat flour, authentic hojicha, chia seeds and dark rye, offering a soft, fluffy texture complemented by a subtle roasted tea aroma and the added crunch of chia seeds.
Unlike traditional green tea, hojicha is roasted over high heat, giving it a distinctive nutty aroma and mellow flavour. Popular throughout Japan, the tea has become increasingly well known for its smooth taste, and Sunshine Bakeries is bringing those characteristics into an everyday loaf that can be enjoyed for breakfast, afternoon tea or as a snack.
The Hojicha Loaf is the third addition to the KOMUGI GOLD range, continuing the brand’s focus on incorporating premium Japanese ingredients into its bread lineup while maintaining the soft texture the series is known for.
The limited-edition Sunshine KOMUGI GOLD Hojicha Loaf is now available at major supermarkets and convenience stores across Klang Valley, Negeri Sembilan, Penang, Johor Bahru, Melaka, Ipoh, Kuantan, Alor Setar, Kuala Terengganu and Kota Bharu.
The loaf is Halal-certified and joins the growing selection of Japanese-inspired bakery products available in Malaysia.
