Evanescence has officially announced Kuala Lumpur as their sole Southeast Asian stop on their 2026 world tour, and the internet has understandably lost its collective mind.
The Grammy Award-winning rock band will take the stage at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil on 28 November 2026, marking their first performance on Malaysian soil since 2012. That’s 14 years — long enough for the kids who grew up on Bring Me to Life to have kids of their own.
What’s on the setlist?
Expect the full emotional gut-punch. The band will bring their classic anthems alongside fresh tracks from Sanctuary, their sixth studio album dropping on 5 June 2026 — their first record of all-new material in several years.
Afterlife, one of the new singles, has already been making waves — it’s featured in the Devil May Cry animated series on Netflix, which means it arrives with a built-in cinematic weight that suits the band perfectly.
The support act is no small deal either
Opening the night is Poppy — the genre-bending musician and performance artist known for blending hyperpop, metal, and the deeply unsettling. It’s a pairing that, on paper, shouldn’t work, and will almost certainly be electric. Malaysian fans rarely get support acts of this calibre at local shows, so arrive early.
Evanescence isn’t just a nostalgia act. Since their 17-million-selling debut Fallen in 2003, the band has continued to evolve through The Open Door, their self-titled third album, and The Bitter Truth in 2021. Sanctuary represents yet another chapter — and this world tour is how they’re bringing it to the world, city by city.
The fact that Kuala Lumpur is the only city in Southeast Asia on this run isn’t just a logistical footnote — it’s a signal that the Malaysian concert scene has firmly arrived. In the same November window, My Chemical Romance is also playing Bukit Jalil on two consecutive nights (19 and 20 November), with both shows already sold out.
