Burger connoisseurs would probably have heard, but for the rest of us, it might be the first: Shake Shack is opening its first official outlet in Malaysia this 10th of April! Fans of the New York-based burger joint are eagerly waiting.
Hailing from the United States, Shake Shack is a staple name boasting a wide array of burgers including its signature beef burger, its Chicken Shack and so much more. Here are 5 things you should expect before it opens its doors to the public:
1. The first outlet will be in The Exchange TRX mall
The first burger joint will officially be erected in the equally brand new The Exchange TRX mall in KL. Make sure to head over there before 7pm, when the doors will officially be open. For the public transport users, to get there, simply ride the MRT line to the Tun Razak Exchange stop and walk about 1.5KM and you’re there! Expect a 20-minute walk, so best to get an early head start.
2. Shake Shack Malaysia will be pork and alcohol free
To accommodate the Muslim majority, Shake Shack Malaysia will not serve pork in their menu, which, judging by the plethora of burger joints we’ve housed here, will probably not be a hard miss. After all, there are plenty of non-pork options to enjoy like their beef sausage burger, and even their veggie burger!
3. Localized menu items
Okay, well, while it won’t be exactly localized, Shake Shack will be offering a Malaysian-centric shake consisting of a “Hibiscus jelly topped with vanilla frozen custard blended with dragon fruit and Gula Melaka (palm sugar), topped with whipped cream, coconut crumble and drizzled with Gula Melaka.” Sounds absolutely delectable!
Keep a lookout and remember to save the date!
