The Pangkalan Data Utama (English: Central Database Hub) portal was officially launched on the 2nd of January. Abbreviated as PADU, it aims to be a single source of reference for Malaysian citizens with the objective of easier and data-driven subsidy distributions in future.
PADU is an initiative proposed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim with the intention of streamlining the distribution of subsidies through a centralised platform. Its objectives are to digitise citizens’ data to ensure the deserving groups benefit the subsidies in future.
To date, PADU is the most comprehensive system containing individual and household profiles encompassing citizens and permanent residences in Malaysia.
Malaysians above the age of 18 are encouraged to start filling out their details as soon as possible on the website here: https://www.padu.gov.my/ until March 31.
