“This is not just a designer’s dream, but also a child’s dream,” Olivier Rousteing told Vogue.

That’s what Balmain’s creative director had to say about the Barbie partnership. Balmain and Barbie have announced their new collaboration, which honours both companies’ contributions to fashion and culture.

The collaboration, which includes ready-to-wear sheets and exclusive accessories, is the first between the French luxury fashion house and the world’s most famous doll.

Over 50 sheets are included in this luxury set, which includes pink and the Barbie insignia from the 1900s, as well as marinière and Labyrinth Balmain motifs.

The sheets range from silk suits for men to structured bodycon dresses for ladies in the collection. Surprisingly, this collection is ‘genderless,’ meaning it is virtually entirely unisex.

“As our marketing image clearly demonstrates, Barbie and Balmain go on a multicultural, inclusive, and joy-filled voyage. We were able to demonstrate the Balmain style, which was inspired by the many and varied beauty that can be found on the streets of Paris today.

Balmain x Barbie is now available at www.balmain.com, Balmain boutiques, Mattel Creations, and other global retailers.
