A group of Japanese scientists has developed a face mask (facemask) that may be used to detect people who are infected with the Covid-19 virus.
When blasted with UV light, this new facemask technology is covered with ostrich cells and will illuminate if exposed to the Covid-19 virus.
According to a Reuters storey, a group of experts from Kyoto Prefectural University came up with the concept for this improvement after studying the power of ostriches’ infectious illness resistance in the past.
As a result of this breakthrough, scientists will work on a way to make the face mask shine when exposed to Covid-19 without exposing it to UV light.
The group of experts expects that by using this cutting-edge technology, they will be able to assist the general public and the health department in preventing the Covid-19 virus from spreading further. This breakthrough is especially helpful for identifying those who have Covid-19 yet are asymptomatic.
If this is a success, they want to start selling this facemask in July 2022.
