As everyone is aware, the 3D animated cartoons Upin & Ipin are now well-known throughout the archipelago and are frequently discussed by fans in Indonesia.
Having an interest in this animation, we frequently hear Indonesians question Malaysians about the characters in this cartoon and if Kampung Durian Runtuh actually exists?
The ‘Tok Dalang’ company intends to construct the Upin Ipin Interactive Theme Park.
Haji Burhanuddin Md Radzi, the creator and publisher of Les ‘Copaque, which distributes Upin Ipin, announced that they are going to develop the Upin Ipin Interactive Theme Park as if recognising the aspirations of the fans.
Hj Burhan, commonly known as ‘Tok Dalang,’ stated on Facebook that they had identified sufficient site for this theme park in Johor Bahru.
We will begin planning as soon as feasible, with the goal of having it operational by January 2023. “It will be a new attraction in JB for all Malaysians, Singaporeans, Indonesians, and Bruneians,” he added.
“There is no such thing as an expensive roller coaster; only Kampung Durian Runtuh.”
He got several proposals from Upin Ipin admirers, one of whom recommended that the theme park be themed after Kampung Durian Runtuh.
Hj Burhan agreed with the concept and said that theme park tickets are undoubtedly reasonable so that all fans may feel like they are in the community.
“Why don’t you take over MAPS?”
Despite getting several comments from fans who are dissatisfied with the notion of the theme park, some have also questioned why the publisher did not simply take over MAPS and try something different.
Nonetheless, Hj Burhan clarified in another article why they did not aim to take over MAPS, citing concerns such as huge money, less strategic locations, intellectual property issues, and others as listed below.
Johor Bahru was chosen for this purpose because its strategic position makes it easier for fans from Riau, Bentan, Pekan Baru, and other parts of Sumatra to visit the theme park.
