Emily Mariko (who also has a Youtube channel) created a salmon rice dish that has gone viral on TikTokfor its easy preparation. While it may appear that this is just another salmon meal, the ice in the rice is what sets hers apart.
The recipe, which is one of Mariko’s numerous healthful dinners, is well-known for its simplicity of preparation. All it takes is cooked salmon and rice heated in the microwave under a layer of greaseproof paper, along with an ice cube to keep the rice wet. The meal is then topped with kimchi and avocado, as well as condiments including soy sauce, mayonnaise, and sriracha.

All you need is some leftover salmon and white rice, you may get creative by substituting your favourite protein, such as tuna.
Ingredients
- Leftover cooked salmon fillet
- Leftover white rice
- Avocado
- Kimchi
- Soy sauce
- Sriracha
- Kewpie mayonnaise
- Dried seaweed, or nori
Preparation
1. Place the fish and rice in a microwave-safe dish or bowl.
2. Place one ice cube in the centre of the bowl and cover it with a layer of greaseproof paper.
3. Microwave on high until heated.
4. Remove the ice cube and greaseproof paper from the container.
5. Drizzle with soy sauce, sriracha, and mayonnaise and combine well.
6. Garnish with avocado and kimchi if desired.
7. Wrap the nori sheets around the ingredients.
