Many of us are aware that diabetes patients experience difficulties and are unable to eat and enjoy the majority of their favourite foods. Here are a few low and medium glycemic choices to enjoy with breakfast or as a snack.
Apple
Apples have a low glycemic index, which means they don’t raise blood sugar levels. They provide 28 grammes of carbs and 5 grammes of fibre.
If you want to improve the taste of apples, chop them up and sprinkle them with cinnamon powder or peanut butter. This technique is not only tasty, but it can also help you consume more nutritious protein and fats.
Banana ice cream
You can’t eat all of the ice creams, but you can eat solely banana ice cream if you like. Ice cream made with bananas isn’t just ordinary ice cream. The term “banana ice cream” refers to the process of freezing and grinding a banana before keeping it in the refrigerator.
Beans
Legumes offer a wide range of carbs, calories, and sugars, making them suitable for everyone, even diabetics.
If you want to make your own, combine almonds, pecans, cashews, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds in a bowl. It’s fantastic!
Pear
Pears are high in fibre, which helps to delay the absorption of sugar into the bloodstream and maintain blood sugar levels after meals. So eat a pear to keep your blood sugar in check, but make sure you take it first.
Diabetic patients should be aware that not all foods, including snacks, are suitable for them. Enjoy your munching!
