On Sunday afternoon, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced that interstate travelling will be permitted beginning today, October 11th.
The full immunisation rate of the adult population has reached 90%, according to the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH). So as promised, those who have completed both doses of vaccinations are allowed to interstate travel.
Meanwhile, the Malaysian government has agreed to allow Malaysians to fly overseas without going through the Malaysian Immigration Department’s #MyTravelPass system (JIM).
“Travelers will, however, be subjected to mandatory quarantine when they return home.” On October 11, 2021, this permission will likewise take effect.
The decision to permit travelling is aimed at reuniting family members and long-distance spouses, as well as Malaysians who travel overseas for employment and those who do business. Individuals who have yet to be completely vaccinated, however, are not eligible for this authorization.
Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri advised the people to follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) no matter where they are.
