You’re stuck at home during the lockdown, but you still want burgers? Morbites, your friendly neighbourhood burger joint, is ready to assist you with their thick, juicy burgers and delicious milkshakes. Morbites co-founders John Justin Tey and Amer Ezzadeen have been working on extending their menu choices to suit the desires of burger-lovers in the Klang Valley since their recent rebrand from Sixty Bites. With a new flagship location in Dataran Sunway and a presence on several food delivery platforms such as Grabfood, Foodpanda and Airasia Food to boot, Morbites makes diving into great burgers easier than ever.
The Black Pepper Burger, available in both chicken and beef, is the newest addition to their delicious stack of burgers. Morbites’ Black Pepper burgers are produced with either ribeye steak or chicken breast, depending on the customer’s order.
Doused in in-house black pepper sauce, the patty is topped with cheese, their unique onion jam, and fresh lettuce, all sandwiched between two soft potato buns produced specifically for Morbites. The crew has also created the Buttermilk Crispy Chikin, which consists of a deep-fried crispy chicken patty smothered in in-house buttermilk sauce, cheese, tomato, and fresh lettuce, all sandwiched between their famed potato buns.
If you prefer rice, don’t worry since Morbites has the ideal dish for you! The Nasi Lemak Ayam Serai Morbites, a familiar meal to all Malaysians – presented with a distinctive twist, the Serai Chicken, is the second new addition to their menu.
This meal features aromatic blue pea-coloured coconut rice, unique sambal, anchovies, and peanuts with slices of Japanese cucumber, in addition to their famous serai chicken. Morbites’ rendition of nasi lemak is sure to tantalise the taste buds of all ages because it is made with only the best and freshest ingredients.
“The Morbites team is extremely thrilled about our new menu offerings and cannot wait for customers to try them all out! By including a nasi lemak dish, we aim to provide more options to people who might be visiting our store as a family or with a group of friends. We understand that not everyone is a fan of burgers – with a rice dish on our menu, friends and family will still be able to enjoy a meal together despite their difference in taste buds or preferences. The nasi lemak dish is a tribute to not only Malaysia as a national dish but also to our Asian rice-loving roots,” says co-founder and Managing Director, John.
On a quest to make their burgers available to everyone, the creative team behind Morbites has been working hard to create a central kitchen and outlet where customers can dine in or take their burger orders once Malaysia exits the current lockdown.
Morbites’ new flagship store is inspired by American restaurants and was designed with a large kitchen to accommodate more clients in the region. It is located in Dataran Sunway Kota Damansara, just a stone’s throw from the MRT Surian stop. The shop originally opened its doors in early May.
The Taj Lamb Burger, with its juicy lamb patties sandwiched between two crispy roti canais, is another Morbites hallmark, as is their ChezBurger, a gourmet American-style burger with a thick rib-eye patty topped with tomato, melted cheese, caramelised onion jam, and tangy mustard pickle mayo.
A special menu for kids called the Kids Slider is also now available as a set of two mini-sized ChezBurger and Hail Caesars in between brioche-like-buns.
