If you grew up watching Friends and it’s all that you ever loved, then you are definitely in for a treat. Just like its theme song, we deep down knew that our favourite six characters will still be there for us even after 17 years.
Since the last episode aired, fans have gone crazy (in a good way) and have done everything Friends-related in their lives. They’ve either had the opportunity to go on the complete studio tour, purchased a lot of Friends merch, or binge-watched the show for the millionth time (no big deal!).
When is the Friends: The Reunion happening?
It is due to premiere on WarnerMedia’s streaming platform, HBO Max, on Thursday, May 27. In anticipation of the special occasion, HBO Max has produced a 40-second teaser featuring the six cast members reuniting.
Production got delayed in 2020
Although there were some setbacks due to the global pandemic, our hopes of watching a Friends reunion as adults are about to come true.
As of now, “The One Where They Get Back Together” will star Jennifer Aniston (Rachel), Courteney Cox (Monica), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe), Matt LeBlanc (Joey), Matthew Perry (Chandler), and David Schwimmer (Ross). The whole thing will be at the original Friends soundstage—Stage 24, at the Warner Bros. Studio in Burbank.
No, it’s not a new episode
Honestly, it’s really exciting especially as a huge fan. The cast will be reuniting at the original Centrel Perk set after so long to reminisce ol’ memories and go through behind-the-scenes footages together. Unfortunately, we can’t have it all ’cause as much as we want to see the gang in their original characters, they will be appearing on the episode as themselves.
Lastly, in order to avoid any misunderstanding about what this special is, we want to make it very clear that this is not a new, original episode of the series. The cast will be appearing as themselves, not as their beloved characters. — HBO Max
