Life in lockdown just seems like a bore and now that everyone is working from home, there goes the beginning of Zoom calls all over again. Well, we were fortunate enough that Logitech was able to send over the C922 Pro Stream HD Webcam for us to try out during our meetings and livestream sessions. This just shows how important it is to invest in home tech as this just so that you can be well-prepared ’cause you won’t know when it might come in handy.

This full-HD webcam has three hinges that help tilt the camera up and down as well as locking the adjustment of the webcam against your monitor. If you’re going to use it for a livestream, the box comes with a tripod that you can attach to the bottom screw mount. It’s made out of plastic but that is beside the point of being durable, lightweight and is not as flimsy as other webcams. As mentioned earlier about the hinges, it is made exceptionally well as you can feel the strong resistance.

The C922 Pro Stream HD Webcam features dual microphones for stereo audio, confirming that your voice will remain clear and audible no matter where you are. Furthermore, since we are now under lockdown, the camera can be used to stream games on Twitch if you are a gamer. Users can choose between Full 1080p at 30fps and Hyperfast HD 720p at 60fps to achieve the rich colour in your videos that can entice your viewers.
Apart from that, there’s also the ability to use the app to zoom and move the camera angle and also projects a 78-degree field of view.

However, when it comes to the camera quality, there seems to be a slight reduction in quality when users choose to stream at 720p 60FPS. It projects a significant noise reduction to the frame, making the outcome of the video seem smoother and less defined. However, that is only when it is set to 60FPS, and while it is appropriate for those who are in a low lighting room — it just doesn’t make sense when you’re in a room with great lighting.
Nonetheless, when we tried to record a livestream show, it just can’t be compared with other types of equipment that can be found out there. We put it to the test for a production that necessitated the usage of a green screen. It was, however, not up to par.
Our two cents? We think it’d just be ideal for those who need to attend virtual meetings and essential video conferences.
