This ready-to-drink cendol beverage from ‘Cendolah’ is made for all M’sians

Asia Innovative F&B Sdn Bhd, the homegrown F&B company, has released an exciting new offering for local dessert lovers with the introduction of ‘Cendolah’ — the nation’s first instant, ready-to-drink cendol beverage.

Cendol will forever have a special spot in the hearts and taste buds of Malaysians and it is one of the reasons why it was voted as one of CNN’s top 50 desserts in the world. This local dessert is often sold by stalls and roadside vendors and the ideal time to have is during a sunny day.

Transforming cendol to becoming the first ready-to-drink product has got to come with lots of complexity. With that in mind, the product provides the same refreshing experience as it is created with main ingredients such as coconut milk caramel syrup, red bean and green rice flour jelly as well.


Vathumalaai Sooratanam or better known as Malai is the founder of Asia Creative F&B Sdn Bhd and has dedicated over 30 years of his life to food innovation–analyzing, exploring, and looking for innovative ways to make local favourite snacks, sweets, and beverages become more available to the global market.

“The idea behind Cendolah is to make cendol more convenient for the people by reimagining it as an easily consumable, off-the-shelf beverage. Through the application of food technology and innovation, we were able to successfully replicate the taste of authentic cendol and I can confidently say that when you try Cendolah, it would remind you of the last time you visited your local neighbourhood cendol seller,” said Malai.


In addition to possessing a two-year shelf life, Cendolah’s recipe was created with the proper combination of sugar, starch, and protein, resulting in a nutritious version of the local favourite beverage.

Malai also thanked the Malaysian government and other agencies for their unwavering assistance in developing Cendolah during his speech at the launch ceremony.


“We take great pride in the fact that Cendolah is a proudly Malaysian product with Halal, HACCP and MeSTI certification. The big dream is to elevate Cendolah into the global market, and we are already working towards this as we speak,” he added.


Cendolah is now available for purchase online through Shopee and in the leading retail chain, Mydin, for as little as RM4.90 per sachet. The corporation is aggressively looking to expand its distribution channels by bringing on more retail partners in the near future.
