Every year on the 8th of March we come together to commemorate the strong, beautiful and independent women in our lives through International Women’s Day. This year, the UN theme for this celebration is “Women in Leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world”, highlighting the impact that girls and women worldwide have as health care workers, caregivers and innovators. Drawing on the constant struggle for female equality, as well as challenges and setbacks against built-up societal stereotypes, Signature Market is proud to be kicking off their Power For All Womankind campaign – with a mission to champion women empowerment and to showcase their appreciation for female strength and resilience.

Signature Market’s Power For All Womankind campaign is inspired by their co-founder, John Cheng. As a tribute to his own mother who single-handedly raised him, John has seen and experienced first-hand the strength and power of a woman as she balances work, family welfare, personal life and more. Recognizing these adverse challenges of being a woman, John hopes to instil strength and motivation through the cultivation of the self-love message for all. With Power For All Womankind, Signature Market also aims to support and empower women by encouraging them to be passionate about what they love, to embrace a positive attitude in life and to dare make a stand for themselves.
“Growing up and seeing how hard my mother has worked to care for her family without the support of a partner has really enlightened me on how hard it is for a woman to balance motherhood on top of work. Juggling different roles was truly a struggle for her. Through my mother’s journey, I was inspired to come up with this campaign to shine a light on how powerful women truly are and how they are capable of so much as well as to encourage them to be proud of all they have done. Through this campaign, we also hope that women are able to shower themselves with love and be reminded of the kindness that they need to show themselves through tough times,” said John.

As part of the campaign efforts, Signature Market is humbled and proud to be featuring 30 powerful women from across industries and experiences to share their journey thus far in hopes of being able to inspire other women around them to step up, be bold and take charge of their lives.
These strong and admirable women include Shevon Lai Jemie who is an international badminton player, Christy Ng the local shoe designer, Aida Rashidi who has beaten cancer twice and Chef Anis Nabilah, celebrity chef and local TV presenter among an array of others.
Messages from these women will be included in a specially curated brochure along with a gift that comes with any purchase of a Signature Market product. Short snippets of their sharings will also be shared on Signature Market’s social media platforms, so stay tuned.

“I am honoured to have been chosen to be a part of this wonderful women empowerment campaign by Signature Market. Women are truly strong and beautiful inside out and we should celebrate and cherish all the women in our lives who work hard for themselves and for their loved ones. When I started my shoe business, there were many people around me who did not believe in me nor my business. Once again, I was determined to prove the naysayers wrong. I went ahead and did whatever my inner voice told me to do. Realizing your self worth is very important because if you don’t believe in yourself, no one will,” said Christy Ng.

“One of my highlights this year is joining Signature Market in their celebration of women through this amazing campaign. I always believe that the key to thriving in what you do is to believe in your own potential and what you can do. If you can find strength from within, you will know who you are as a person (identity), suit up with strong will, believe that good things will come and stay positive. Then it won’t matter what kind of discrimination you will face, no one can ever steal your sparkle from you,” said Nana Al Haleq.

In line with embracing and supporting every woman through this campaign, Signature Market will also be rolling out four different and unique merchandises to be received at random as a gift with any purchase of a Signature Market product, all throughout the month of March while stocks last. These merchandises are designed exclusively by Signature Market to champion our local women with colourful illustrations that contain elements of Malaysia’s own diverse cultural heritage, serving as an everyday reminder of empowerment and self-love. These gifts include a notebook, a water tumbler with a straw, a magnetic bookmark and a transparent pencil case. The pencil case has a little message specially printed on the side – reminding women to love themselves a little more with every passing day.

The self-love and empowerment campaign ties in with Signature Market’s ethos of encouraging people to live their best and healthiest life encompassing Body, Mind and Spirit. Through their holistic offerings that mainly focus on whole foods and snacks, Signature Market carries a wide array of wholesome products which include their bestselling Omega-3 Trail Mix, Thai Dried Mango and Fruit Fibre Detox DX Plus. Aside from healthy consumable products, they also offer holistic personal care items under Plant Origins – an aromatherapy and personal care brand under Signature Market that provides a range of items consisting of natural shampoo, essential oils, diffusers and room sprays.
