One thing about the Galaxy Buds Pro is that it features some of the most advanced audio capabilities of any true wireless earbuds. Their intelligent ANC is able to distinguish between your voice and ambient sound, removing background noise when you are looking to immerse yourself and lowering the volume of your audio when you’re engaging in a conversation. What’s more, the innovative 360 Audio functionality analyzes both audio signal composition and the movement of your head to provide cinematic, 3D-like surround sound right from your smartphone.
In comparison to the previous models, I have to say that this latest one wins.

It’s nice to see Samsung release a product that looks conventional but impressively good. The Buds Pro arrive in an almost shockingly tiny box and inside sits a similarly tiny charging case that feels as well made as it is pretty. They slot into the concha of my ears quite naturally. But how good do they actually sound?

Clear calls and relatively stable connection
The Buds Pro is just how easily they pair with your phone. We tested these wireless earbuds with Samsung’s new Galaxy S21+ and the whole connection process took a matter of seconds. Once connected, the next thing you’ll notice is just how comfy the Galaxy Buds Pro are in your ears.
The new Galaxy Buds Pro doesn’t only feature a radical design but also come with noise-cancelling technology, which blocks out most background sound. Voice Detect, which knows if you’re talking and immediately kills the Active Noise Cancellation.
The intelligent ANC is impressive and the voice detection feature is genuinely useful. The Galaxy Buds Pro will automatically detect if you’re speaking and switch to an ambient sound mode so you can hear yourself and your surroundings.
There are four levels of ambient sound settings. The Buds Pro are a good example of getting both passive and active noise cancellation right.
Impressive sound
Once you’re all set up you can expect a very well-rounded music experience with tracks sounding clear and full of detail.
You get a real sense of space when listening on the Galaxy Buds Pro, with some songs sounding as good as wearing over-ear cans. They produce rich and well-controlled bass, warm mids and precise high notes that make them some of the best-sounding truly wireless earbuds available, thanks to custom-built 2-way speakers with sound by AKG.
The Galaxy Buds Pro are pleasant to listen to, especially for podcasts and other more austere recordings. Jumping across different playlists and genres, I came away very pleased by the warmth and balance of the Galaxy Buds Pro. If you’re worried about the bass, don’t be. So long as they’re in your ears right, the Galaxy Buds Pro can kick out plenty of oomph on the bottom end.
The tap controls work wonderfully on the Galaxy Buds Pro: single tap to pause, double to skip, and you can customize what a long press does.
The Buds Pro just fit me right, they are great at staying put while working out. It comes with improved IPX7 water resistance, which means they should survive the Malaysia weather.
Performance 5/5
Battery life is pretty decent with them lasting for well over 18-24 hours on a single charge. As for battery life, the earbuds gave me every minute of their relatively impressive 5-hour playback time with noise cancellation on.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro also has a few Samsung-specific features worth calling attention to – there’s a hands-free Bixby mode, which works exactly as you’d expect, and a Find My Earbuds feature powered by SmartThings Find.
One final thing to note is that, like Apple’s AirPods, the Galaxy Buds Pro work best within their own ecosystem.
