Chinese New Year is an opportunity for everyone to come together as a family. The recent spike in COVID-19 cases and the reinforcement of MCO across Malaysia has cast a cloud on the opportunity for us to be together. And although many of us are not able to be together physically, we should still be able to dress up nice, send cheer and good wishes for the Year of the Ox to family and friends in Malaysia.
Batik Boutique created a few designs that would fit the Chinese New Year feel this MCO.
MEN’S BATIK SHIRT – MAROON OX (RM259.00) || BATIK CHEONGSAM BLOUSE – MAROON OX (RM288.00)
This premium quality batik Ox print was designed by a batik artist in collaboration with a professor and his family that hand-painted each piece. Whereas the cheongsam blouse is hand-made using a traditional block printing technique and is designed by the label’s newest batik artist and painted by a family run business.
Both fabrics were then sent to Jamshid, a refugee from Afghanistan working to support and train other refugees. Now even your baju can create impact. Even the buttons are hard-crafted.
BATIK CHEONGSAM – MULBERRY LANTERN (RM388.00)
Just like the other two designs, this classic cheongsam was also made using the traditional block printing technique.
BATIK SLEEVELESS DRESS – GREY OX (RM288.00) || MEN’S LONG-SLEEVED BATIK SHIRT – GREY OX (RM289.00)
Something more casual for the women and something that can be worn for any occasion for the men.
MEN’S LONG-SLEEVED BATIK SHIRT – BLUE OX (RM289.00)
This straight-fit and button-up shirt is hand-painted on 100% cotton and is absolutely soft.
Two more days to the celebration and you can always head down to their store and make your purchase. Don’t forget to abide by the SOPs and stay safe. Happy Chinese New Year!
