The Samsung Galaxy S21 series has officially launched and it is the first flagship devices that are being released for the year 2021. Consisting of three different models: the S21, S21+ and the S21 Ultra — the one thing these three devices have in common is being powered by the latest 5nm Exynos 2100 processor.
What Samsung fans would enjoy most is that the Galaxy S21 and S21+ comes with an AMOLED display that delivers a Full HD+ resolution. On top of that, it also features an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. As for the S21 Ultra, everything is the same except for the part where its AMOLED display pushes a Quad HD+ resolution instead which is quite impressive.
These flagship devices have an 8GB and 256GB RAM/storage configurations whereas the S21 Ultra offers a higher 16GBB RAM with 512GB of storage.
In terms of photography, both Galaxy S21 and S21+ features a 12MD wide and ultra-wide cameras along with a Dual Pixel AF. It also has OIS and 64MP telephoto cameras. As for the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s quad-camera setup, it offers a 108MP wide-angle camera with an f/1.8 aperture lens, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera and two 10MP telephoto cameras–one at 3X optical zoom and the other at 10X optical zoom. Although the device now comes with the latest telephoto setup, users will be relieved to know that the Space Zoom feature is still able to max out at 100X. To help with focusing, because the main sensor doesn’t have Dual Pixel AF, the S21 Ultra gets a laser AF module as well.
It also comes with updated features such as having the ability to shoot 4K videos at 60fps. Best part? Users can now have a video quality up to 8K resolution with the main sensor that is pretty cool. To add more interesting elements to this device, the Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with the S Pen support but the accessory is sold separately. Which makes sense since it can’t be stored in the device and has much more limitations in terms of functionality.
Just like what Apple has done, Samsung has hopped on the bandwagon and excluded the power adapter from the box. However, the USB-C to USB-C cable, a SIM ejector tool and the device manual will all still be provided. Nevertheless, Samsung fans or those who are planning to switch to a newer phone shall consider the S21 series.
