Named after his daughter, Little Rara Thai Noodle House is a halal Thai restaurant popular for its spicy Tom Yum Mama Noodle and Thai Boat Noodle. The restaurant has been around for almost 9 years with its first outlet at Jalan Kia Peng and the second at Jalan TAR.
Chef Rudi, the owner came up with the concept of this humble restaurant out of his love for Thai street food. Being half Thai himself, he wanted to share his roots with people and encourage them to enjoy the real classic street food locally. His definition of street food is that it has to be inexpensive, good and authentic.
Besides its delicious dishes, Little Rara is also famous for its spice. Take their Tom Yum Noodle Soup, for instance, as the bowl is topped with a lot of chopped chillies, elevating the dish with some heat. The noodle dish comes with the shredded chicken, an egg and meatballs. So if you’re a spice devil, this is definitely the spot that’s right for you.
To cope with the pandemic, Little Rara has launched its latest menu for 2021, Do Or Die Hard, featuring new and enhanced Thai dishes.
Tomyum Talay Maggie Seafood (RM25)
Chef Rudi’s own take of the popular Thai-style instant noodle pot is pork-free, featuring giant prawns, mussels, squids and more. It is also topped with some egg yolks and fish paste over instant noodles that will make the spicy tom yum broth even creamier and richer. Great for the whole family.
Yums (Kerabu): Grilled Beef, Seafood & Noodle (RM13, RM12 & RM13)
Get ready for a mixture of spices, sour, sweet and spicy with their Thai salad dishes. With three different kinds, go for the sliced grilled beef, assorted seafood or even a glass noodle of assorted seafood and chicken sausage. Completing the dish is Little Rara’s special yum sauce.
Mother Father Seafood Omelette (RM42)
The Mother Father Seafood Omelette is prepared with Thai chilli paste and a lot of bird’s eye chillies. It is then topped with Little Rara’s assorted seafood omelette.
Sup Tuleng Ayah Chon Berapi (RM25)
One of their signature Southern som soup is where the fresh beef bone is boiled in a pot for at least five hours and is served alongside some southern som spicy herbs.
Roti Ice Cream (RM10)
A Malaysian classic with a twist. Little Rara’s version of this local dessert comes with scoops of Thai coconut ice cream, sweet corn and grass jelly sandwiched in a white bun. It’s certainly the perfect way to end your meal after all that spice.
Honestly, the dishes at Little Rara look absolutely delicious and I bet it tastes as good as it looks too. Can’t wait to try it out one day.
