For many years now, the National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia (NKF) together with Oversea Group of Companies has organised a mooncake charity project to help raise funds for their underprivileged kidney failure patients and this year is no different.
The charity project will be happening from now until 30 September 2020 whereby Malaysians can choose to purchase their preferred mooncakes among the two sets available and be assured that all funds raised will be donated directly to NKF Malaysia.
For those who aren’t aware, NKF is a non-profit organisation that provides subsidised dialysis treatments for their patients who are from the lower-income group. But with the whole COVID-19 situation, it has taken a toll on NKF whereby they would have to depend on the public’s generosity and corporate funding to help their 1,723 kidney failure patients.
The Mooncakes are 100% halal certified and come in two available sets:
Set A: This box includes a normal 4-piece set of mooncakes; Lotus Paste 1 Yolk, Assorted Fruits & Nuts, Red Bean and Shanghai Mooncake 1 Yolk for RM 68 per box.
Set B: This box includes a normal 4-piece set of mooncakes; Green Tea with Red Bean (Green Tea Lotus Paste & Red Bean), Royal Fairy 1 Yolk (Lotus Paste & Mung Bean), Golden Starlight 1 Yolk (Pandan Lotus Paste & Mung Bean) and Cherry Blossom 1 Yolk (Sakura Flower Lotus Paste) for RM 68 per box.
Support NKF by purchasing any one or both of their mooncake sets to extend their patients a lifeline and help save lives. Members of the public can also spread the joy and celebration by sponsoring the mooncakes to NKF patients and their families.
Embracing the new normal, NKF has also made it possible for those who are interested in purchasing the mooncakes to make an order via Shopee.
Alternatively, donors can also place their orders on the online order form where payment can be made via credit card, cheque or postal order, as well as cash via deposit or online-banking transfer. Proof of payment is to be attached to the completed order forms and returned via fax or email.
Members of the public who are interested in contributing to NKF’s efforts for its dialysis patients can find out more through NKF’s website.
