When it comes to skincare, the ladies have taken things seriously on a whole other level. That goes without saying, keeping our skin hydrated and soft is most probably the end goal here. For the unfamiliar, Hada Labo is a Japanese skincare brand that is pretty much well known throughout Asia and one of their famous product ranges would have to be the Hada Labo Gokujyun Hydrating Lotion.
Design 4/5
The Hada Labo Hydrating Lotion comes in a plastic translucent bottle with a flip open cap. You can see the amount of product left from the dispenser nozzle itself or even from the outside. It’s not too big in size (170ml) either, making it travel-friendly. However, it does come in a trial pack (30ml) in case you’re opting for more space in that luggage of yours.
Touch & Smell 4/5
The product comes in two versions: light and rich. For the light version, it comes in a green label stated on the bottle and is perfect for those with normal or oily skin. The texture of the lotion is quite light and runny and can actually be used as a mask as well. It is fragrance-free so that’s a plus point since added fragrance in a skincare product is known to irritate the skin more than usual.
As for the rich version, it comes in a red label and you’d find the texture of the lotion to be a little thicker and stickier than the light version and it feels like an essence. Although it might be a tad bit tacky due to its high content of moisture, it is actually made for those with dry skin. Also, it doesn’t take too long for the product to be absorbed into your skin, making it smooth and supple within minutes. Plus a little goes a long way.
Application 4/5
Applying the lotion or basically any moisturising product is probably one of the most important steps in our skincare regime. As for this Hada Labo Hydrating Lotion, it serves as the foundation to your moisturising routine that helps prepare your skin for better absorption. For it to work better, it is best to apply the product using your hands. Just use a sufficient amount and rub the lotion gently with your palms. Then apply the lotion over your face, by gently patting it with a little added pressure to accelerate the absorption. If it starts to feel sticky, it’s working. Just continue patting until the lotion is fully absorbed. You can also apply the lotion to your neck or other skin areas.
Benefits 4/5
What’s amazing about the Hada Labo Hydrating Lotion is that it comes with the new High Performance Penetrating & Deep Moisturizing (HHP&M) Technology. The product contains humectants such as the four different types of Hyaluronic Acid that come in different sizes of HA molecules. This is to deeply hydrate and penetrate every layer of skin from the surface to inner skin layers. Hence making your skin, smooth, supple and completely hydrated.
Value 4/5
For RM66, it is worth noting that it is quite reasonable. After all, it is a product that helps to improve dehydrated skin plus a little does go a long way. The Hada Labo Hydrating Lotion is available at all drugstores nationwide as well as Hermo.
Verdict
Not only is it reasonable in terms of pricing but it also works. Not only does it contain humectants such as Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerin and so on that helps to hydrate the skin. But another thing worth noting is that the product is also free from fragrances, alcohol and colourant — basically anything that could potentially irritate the skin. With that said, use the right product (light or rich) to get an effective result.
