Famous people who have been tested positive for Coronavirus

by Andrea Tay

As it has been confirmed by the World Health Organization as a global pandemic, it is for certain that the Coronavirus isn’t picky when it comes to its victims and it is quite scary. That just means anyone can have it, regardless of how famous, how rich, how pretty or smart you are.

Being a famous person just means that you are an individual who is recognized widely for your talents, the uniqueness you have unlike others or you are an authoritative figure. With the virus spreading across 164 countries and territories, it is for certain no one can run or hide when it comes to it.

Some might wonder how could these well-known figures get infected? Well as part of their job, they are involved in meeting a large number of people on a daily basis. So that is quite worrying as to how easily they could be infected.

There have been many people infected around the world and just to name a few, here are some of the most famous celebrities and influential people who have been tested positive for COVID-19.

Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson

Tom Hanks is a notable actor who is known for his jolly persona. Upon travelling to Australia for a film project, both husband and wife fell ill and it all started with them getting the chills that came and went. Then, there were the fatigues, body aches and fevers that came later on. When they got themselves checked, it turned out that both of them were tested positive for coronavirus.

The couple each took to Instagram to share the news with the world.

What makes this interesting is that they were also the first celebrities from Hollywood to be infected with this novelty virus.

To make things happier, the hospital staff even surprised Tom with Wilson, his ol’ volleyball buddy from the film Castaway.

Idris Elba

The British actor was tested positive for the virus on March 16 after discovering that he had been in contact with a coronavirus carrier 3 days prior to that. He self-quarantined himself as he was concerned about the public’s health.

Unlike Tom and Rita, Idris did not have any symptoms and thought he should get himself tested after getting in contact with the carrier.

Sophia Gregoire Trudeau, wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

She was tested positive as her husband went into precautionary isolation after having contact with each other. Although the Prime Minister doesn’t have any symptoms yet, he would still have to monitor his own condition before resuming to his daily responsibilities.

Greetings from Norway! Sorry to say that I, today, have tested positive for COVID19, Corona virus. My familiy and I are self-isolating at home for as long as it takes. We are in good health – I only have mild symptoms of a cold. There are people at higher risk for who this virus might be a devastating diagnosis, so I urge all of you to be extremely careful; wash your hands, keep 1,5 meters distance from others, go in quarantine; just do everything you can to stop the virus from spreading. Together we can fight this virus and avert a crisis at our hospitals. Please take care of each other, keep your distance, and stay healthy! Please visit your country’s Center for Disease Control’s website, and follow the regulations for staying safe and protecting not just yourselves, but our entire community, and especially those at risk like the elderly and people with pre-existing conditions. @grymolvaerhivju #fightcorona #solidarity #takecare #folkehelseinstituttet Thanks to @panoramaagency
