Have you ever heard the statement, “I may be full, but I still am able to finish that ice-cream” or “I will always have space in my stomach for ice-cream.” This sweetened frozen food has been around for centuries and has become a popular treat not considering age, gender, nationality or races. If you turned the word “STRESSED” around, it is basically “DESSERTS”.
In other words, whenever you are stressed out, you should have some ice-cream so that the burden on your shoulders will be lessened. Plus, ice cream makes everyone happy so why not?
If you stumble upon this cute little thing called Roji Little Black in SS15, then you are certainly in for a treat. SS15 is known as the dessert haven for all avid foodies. To survive the Malaysian weather, nothing beats a good ol’ ice cream. This is where this all-new dessert cafe comes to the scene. With us living the summer life all day, every day —Roji Monster Ice-Cream is the answer to our heaty problems. It’s cute and it makes us cool in the inside too.
This Japanese dessert cafe is originally from Taiwan and is known for their shaved ice desserts that have googly eyes. If you are fond of the Yip Yips (The Martians) or the Cookie Monster as a kid, then you would definitely find a tough time to eat this cute dessert. They currently have 4 flavours with 25 kinds of toppings to choose from and. Whereas, the ice-made products are purely hand-made and do not contain any amount of water. Thus, making your bowl of desserts taste rich in flavour and melts smoothly in your mouth. It is so good that it is impossible for you to put down your spoon.
Unlike other dessert cafes, Roji comes up with their own design of the ice-cream. It is really a smart move as this makes it gain much more recognition and stands out as its own. Their designs would make you grammar exhilarated with the addition of something new to your feed. Deny all you want, but you will not be able to contain yourself when you see such cute googly eyes looking back at you from the bowl.
Remember the Yip Yips from Sesame Street? Now you can eat them or at least a close approximation of them at the Roji Monster Ice Cream shop in Burwood. This dessert café imported from Taiwan creates shaved ice desserts with candy googly eyes in five flavours. Matcha is the most popular, but there’s also black sesame, but we should warn you that the rainbow one isn’t actually rainbow – it’s to indicate the changing seasonal special.
Still a freshie in the F&B business, Roji Monster offers four flavours for now along with 25 toppings. So if you are someone who likes aesthetically pleasing dishes, then we reckon you would be here more than once.
To order, you would have to use stamps to select two toppings to go with your choice of icy monster. Just to mention a few of the ice cream flavours Roji Monster offer: Oreo Cream Cheese, Honeycomb Rice Dumplings, Saffron and Lychee Jelly or Cornflakes. Because the turnout of the dessert would be so cute, patrons would not resist to snap a photo of it.
Besides the ice cream, Roji’s waffle is a crowd favourite too. This battered cake is one of their highlight dishes and is served with chocolate syrup, ice cream and matcha cream. Excited parents with kids will start a line right even before the shop opens.
