RAGE is what their outlets are called where it’s a step up from your usual local coffee scene with the newest and reinvented menu with standout meal options throughout the day and curated coffee and matcha based drinks as well as brand new frappes, with multiple options of alternative milk to choose from. They have recently opened their new flagship outlet here in Midvalley Megamall and we were lucky enough to head over and see what the hype is all about.
The brainchild of RAGE, Jevin Singh, as a whole aims to be much more than any typical Instagrammable cafe. Sourcing their coffee beans from a trusted local roaster VCR, RAGE serves quality, affordable beverage and sumptuous offerings. –– vegans and lactose-intolerant RAGERs are given an extensive range of alternatives to dairy milk such as oat milk, soy milk and even coconut milk! RAGE also specialists in matcha based drinks and source their matcha from Niko Neko.
Bangkok Love Story
What’s not to love about Thailand and the wonderful culture surrounding it? Here’s where Bangkok Love Story coffee comes in the picture to remind you of the beautiful and bustling place of Bangkok. This refreshing cuppa is a harmonious clash infusing the Thai Tea and Espresso. A genuine crowd favorite for sure.
Matcha Gula Melaka, RM 10
Matcha green tea and gula melaka in one drink combination? Yum! It has a milky blend of either soy, coconut or oat milk plus with the earthy matcha that is packed with the sweetness of Gula Melaka. Finally garnishing it with macerated coconut! The taste isn’t too overwhelming either, and it’s a pretty smooth drink that all can enjoy.
Strawberry Milk Frappe
If you’re not a coffee-holic, fret not as RAGE even caters to the sweet tooth people as yourself. Their frappe has no espresso shot in it. Think of it as a liquid dessert and be blown away by the strawberries paired together with our special vanilla foam on top. It certainly did remind me of the three flavored ice cream in the tupperware (vanilla, chocolate and strawberry flavors). So refreshing, creamy and brings back lots of wonderful memories.
The new outlet in Midvalley, RAGE 2.0 offers many vegan-friendly options plant based protein. Ingeniously harmonizing the Asian spices and the Western passion for food, RAGE kitchen invents distinctive recipes that will stimulate your palate and sparks your inner joy. From their signature Rice Bowls to RAGE Lamb Wraps in collaboration with Beard Brothers who smokes the lamb to perfection using their low and slow approach.
Here’s the food that we tried!
Beef Tenderloin Bowl, RM 22
This Instagram worthy power meal is all you need to get by. RAGE collaborates with the famous meat/BBQ joint, Beard Brothers for a scrumptious beef eating experience. Worth noting that the beef are all coffee rubbed but the tenderness of the meat just feels like it melts in your mouth. It is a bowl filled with vegetables, tenderloin beef, egg yolk with rice underneath. Would definitely recommend this!
Smoked Lamb Wrap, RM 22
Just by looking at the how meaty the lamb is, you’ll be drooling all the way. This exceptionally delicious smoked lamb wrap comes with freshly made flat bread with pulled lamb, garlic sauce and side of salads. I love how this is a simple meal but flavors and texture are just right on point.
Beef Dendeng, RM 15
If the word dendeng rings a bell, you may know its a Indonesian delicacy that refers to thinly sliced dried meat which can be called as jerky as well. Staying true to it’s beautiful flavoring profile so far, this bowl would brighten up your day. Comes with healthy greens, and a generous portion of the dendeng, this “worth it” dish could just fill you up. Pair with any RAGE beverage/coffee and it’s a match made in heaven.
Since it started just May of this year, RAGE has expanded to 11 outlets with Bangsar and Midvalley as the main flagship stores and 5 of them are in a co-working spaces. Can find them in Common Ground areas. What’s interesting about ordering your coffee through the DRINKRAGE app is that you can simply pick your coffee up at any RAGE outlets without having to line up. If you’re opting for a deliver to office type is also done via walking delivery so that your coffee comes in fresh, no spillages and ready to be served. Of course, delivery only within Midvalley city area. You can get walking delivery in KL Sentral too.
With RAGE aim to avoid any wastage, they’ve collaborated with locally grown brands who inspire them in unique ways, such as Rimau NGO who protect Malaysian tigers. They are currently raising awareness to save our furry friends, with RAGE made chaiger latte where proceeds raised help our furry friends. Plus, they partnered up with eco and chemical-friendly beauty brand ‘The Mineraw’, RAGE’s coffee waste is the star and vital component in their body, face and lip scrub produced by these ethical connoisseurs.
