Celebrating its 70th anniversary this year since its launch in 1949, Onitsuka Tiger continues to appeal to fashionistas around the world with a contemporary collection that combines fashion and sports, and heritage and innovation. They recently announced a special collaboration with seven designers, popular in Japan and abroad. The fourth stage, to be launched on September 23rd, is a collaboration with Shimo Zhou and Une Yea, the designers of STAFFONLY, an energetic contemporary menswear brand established in London.
Shimo Zhou updates the “SERRANO” sneaker which is inspired by classic track and field spike shoes developed in the 1970’s. Based on their theme of “Protection”, details on the toe and heel area in addition to two shoe laces are adopted to complete the novel design.
For the oversize silhouette and three-dimensional cut on the Track Top, orange and blue lines on the white base running along the entire side to the back in a long smooth arc, logos on the collar sleeves and back hem, and a group of buckles on the front inspired by traditional Chinese robes add mode elements. For the Track Pants, the same orange and blue lines can be found running down the side and the drawstring at the waist is the same as the shoelace, creating a unified and clean impression.
This is a unique and intriguing collaboration between the ever-evolving contemporary Onitsuka Tiger and STAFFONLY illustrating unlimited imagination beyond the word itself.
Be the first to get this collection at Onitsuka Tiger stores in KLCC and MidValley on September 23, 2019.
