1. Prosperity Bowl Restaurant
This place became so famous that it has won several awards for its chicken rice. Their steamed chicken with their soy sauce just makes it all better. Especially known for its poached Free Range Chicken and barbecued pork. They also have noodle and other rice as an option. Expect crowd during the weekends.

2. Ah Seng Hainanese Chicken

Located in the famous SS2 food court, lies one of their best-kept secret of chicken rice. Generous portion, juicy chicken piece and sometimes you can see a queue of people as well. Be sure to try their steamed chicken and also their pork selections. For the quality of the food, it’s easy on the wallet too.

3. Village Chicken
The Village Chicken Restaurant has been operating in SS2 since the 80s. One of their speciality is the Hainanese Chicken Rice With Village Chicken. The chicken meat is tender and the soy sauce doesn’t overpower the taste as well. Make sure you eat the skin too, that’s where the extra taste comes about too. They have other dishes served as well.

4. Madam Tea Famous Chicken Rice

Ranging from not only the usual chicken rice, but you have an array of ‘taichow’ dishes and common coffee shops kind of food as well. As for their chicken rice, the portion is good and is affordable. The cost would be about RM 10 per person depending on what you order.

5. Nan An Ah Seng
Topped with their elegantly juicy steam chicken with the soy, sesame oil and some oyster sauce. It is located in a hawker stall kind of setting in SS2, Mamak square. They served with rice, porridge or kueh tiaw. Make sure to try their bean sprout as well. Pork-free place!

6. Chicken Rice Stall in Restoran Sun Hin Loong

You know some of the best places to get local food like this is situated in hawker food stalls. Their roast chicken and Siew yuk chicken rice are one of the reasons it’s famous here too. The flavours of the rice together with it’s generous sauces to go with the chicken is what will keep you coming here.

7. Toast & Roast
Toast and Roast is a Kopitiam style restaurant in SS2 that serves one of the best char siew fix here. Of course, their chicken rice here itself brings in lots of visitors especially their hickory-smoked whole chicken leg. You have a serving of Hakka noodles as well.

8. SS2 Claypot Chicken Rice

Situated at stall number 19, another gem in the SS2 food court is where the fragrant clay pot chicken rice lies. Before the food is being served, the cooks will mix the clay pot chicken rice for you so when you’re eating it, you’ll get the soy sauce flavours and also to avoid the rice at the bottom from being overcooked. It is piping hot too so be careful!
