Situated right the heart of the busy streets of Damansara Uptown, Orale is one restaurant you can’t miss. With its bright, vibrant exterior with a sombrero neon hat for an Insta worthy picture, one can’t help but enter in. The fact that you have a live view from the entrance of the chefs at work cooking the amazing Mexican dish itself makes you drool. As you enter in, you’ll be accompanied by smiling faces by the staff and the beautiful aromatic food.
Perhaps the next best part of Orale is its colourful wall designed by @joshgnomes that depicts somewhat the Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival that is celebrated by the Mexicans. Definitely a great background to snap a picture of your food served in Orale too.
Although Orale opened its doors to customers only early of March 2019, this Mexican street food inspired restaurant been getting great reviews and is praised by many who visits here. Founded by Timothy Anthony, 26, where he draws inspiration from his days of studying in Melbourne, Australia. He would eat a lot of Mexican street food and kebabs while abroad.
The fact that Mexican food has a variety of flavour and room to play with in terms of taste certainly has a soft spot for me… -Timothy Anthony, owner of Orale-
After his studies in Aussie finished about 2 years ago, he was working in an event company for a bit and in his spare time would cook or experiment with Mexican dishes that led to his friends and family encouraging him to open up a restaurant.
Orale is mainly famous for its freshly made tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and nachos. With locally sourced foods (greens), high-quality imported meats, authentic condiments from Mexico, cheese from the USA, guacamole from Los Angeles, and spices makes it all drool-worthy!
Gael’s Ground Chicken Nachos, RM15
Savoury ground chicken that’s cooked with corn kernels, crowned with tomato salsa and of course, cheese! The fact that the portion of the ground chicken alone is generous and the flavourful tomato salsa and corn is for RM15, better count your blessings! Although it’s a simple dish, however, the taste really pops and make you grab for another nacho. Can be shared with two to three people.
Fish Tacos, RM8 a piece (minimum order of 2 pieces)
Blanketed with its meaty and freshly grilled fish, onions, sour cream, and small cuts of pineapple scattered across the tacos making it a funky Mexican inspired dish. I love the fact that the hints of pineapple surprisingly set the right tone of balance to the flavour. Fish tacos is one of the top three bestseller foods in Orale. Try it for yourself!
Beef Tostadas, RM 10 a piece (minimum order of 2 pieces)
Tostada is a Spanish word meaning “toasted” and is served to a flat or bowl-shaped tortilla that is deep fried or roasted. In this flat version of the beef tostadas, it comes with re-fried beans, tangy slaw, roasted tomato salsa, cheese and beef. You can choose other meat/veg such as lamb, chicken, fish or regular black beans and corn. One bite and you can instantly taste the tenderness of the beef that’s paired with the other ingredients and the crunchiness of the tortilla. The portion may look small to you but the generous amount of toppings certainly does this tostadas justice!
Lamb Quesadillas, RM 20

The mother of all cheese definitely conquered our taste buds together with its spectacular caramelised bell peppers, salsa, and tender lamb in a grilled tortilla. This is a huge portion especially if you’ve ordered other menu in Orale, so I would suggest sharing it with at least another person. Although it hit a little to the saltier side for me, the lamb performs exceptionally well. You have an option to choose beef, chicken or even pumpkin as the star of the dish.
Important note: If you want to crank up the spiciness, sprinkle a little (or more) of their Habanero sauce on it. You won’t regret it! 🙂
Also to try; Lamb Burrito (current best seller in Orale).
Jarritos, RM10
Make sure you fizzle your way to try the Mexican Sodas that is available in Orale.
Beer, coffee, tea and carbonated beverage are also sold here.
