by Natasha Christopher

Milan, a metropolis in Italy’s northern Lombardy region, is a global capital of fashion and design. It’s the second most populous city in Italy after Rome with having a population of about 1.4 million people.

With its beautiful skyscrapers and gorgeous sunset views, Merrie Tew gives us an insight into what Milan is really like and it only making us pack our bags and fly out there.

Duomo di Milano

One of the largest cathedrals in the world, this iconic masterpiece took over 600 years to complete. No wonder the cathedral presents such an Instagrammable stunning architecture that they received 100,000 weekly visitors to the Duomo. It’s a symbol of Milan around the world too.

I would say that their statues are really something else that you’ve never seen before. Climb the stairs or take a lift to the rooftop to fully appreciate the architecture of the most renowned silhouette in the city.

Just look at the French Gothic style! Who wouldn’t want to take pictures of this place?

Burano, Veneto, Italy

This picturesque Burano is known for its brightly coloured fishermen’s houses and its casual eateries serving seafood from the lagoon. The different colours of the houses, which today represent the island’s main feature, at a previous time were useful to delimit the properties. Besides that, this place is also famous for its museum and school of lace making and their Calle Galuppi street on this island.

I love how the people were just so friendly, the sun was shining bright, and how you get to see people laughing and smiling at this area. It’s such an amazing time while I was there. Here are some colourful pictures!
