Chances are you are now probably thinking of that one lady friend of yours who is always surrounded by guy friends. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but it just seems like people have their way of assuming things before understanding the real idea behind it.
Person 1: Eh, you sure you don’t want to call any girl to accompany you on this trip ah?
Person 2: You got no lady friends ke?
Person 3: Fuyoh, four guys and one girl
People’s reaction is pretty much mixed when it comes to this issue and it’s funny to see how they still think like it’s a huge thing for a girl to be hanging out with just all guys in a group.
To be honest, it’s hard enough when you’re a girl and you want to do girly stuff but all your friends are mainly male species. However, being friends with males have their perks too! Of course, there is some downside to how people perceive it as well. Here are the top three famous ones.
1. We’re only friends with guys because we want attention
It’s the personality that counts. Maybe, just maybe it was never the attention and more of the quality of the friendship? Something to think about.
2. Everyone thinks he is your boyfriend
This has got to be one of the famous lines people would perceive when you have a guy as your BFFs. Just because we hang out with boys that mean we datin’ them.
3. “She must be a slut”
You walk past a girl that’s sitting with a bunch of guys, and you think to yourself, she must be sleeping with them. It may not be all of you that reflects this way but it does with close-minded people. Although this may not be a popular opinion, it just needs to be said. It’s a myth.
But to look at the upside of all of this, there are obviously good things about ‘lepaking’ with just all boys.
The fact that girls are able to understand and comprehend as to how guys think and speak, is pretty much amazing. To be able to look at it from a male perspective makes us a better person as to not assume a certain situation as it is and learn.
Besides that, if you happened to have a shy guy friend, they definitely look at you as the dope wingwoman that one could ask for. So you end up being cupid for them and nothing makes you happier than that.
The guy friend has already accepted you as one of their own. Some may even want to include you in their hangout activities.
To be honest, having a conversation or seeking advice from your male friends are pretty much a whole different experience. While most of them listen to you, some offer solution type of advice that comes from his experiences as well as clear cut honest advice. For example, Guy Friend A is telling Girl A that the guy she is dating is a real jerk and you don’t deserve him. They tell it like it is.
