MMM 2019 Organising Chairman Sylvester Fan said: “MMM is all about supporting local brands; while concert tickets are available for purchase, we encourage consumers to buy products from our partners and the top spenders will be rewarded with concert tickets, two million AirAsia BIG points and other exciting bundles. Our aim this year is to help our partnering brands to boost their collective sales by RM50 million. Interested local brands can get in touch with us to find out how to join us as partners.”
Following the launch, there will be a series of online and offline activities leading to the finale concert in the heart of the Kuala Lumpur city centre – Bukit Bintang. Battle of Talents will be one of the activities where musicians will perform original songs in any genre to showcase their talent.
Other offline activities include collaborations with AirAsia BIG for an unforgettable musical experience and with other official partners in shopping malls along the Bukit Bintang strip and Golden Triangle area.
During the launch, we manage to speak with some of the artists that will be performing during the finale concert.
Rabbit Mac is a Hip Hop and Rap singer who plays an active role in the Malaysian Hip Hop industry, especially Tamil music. Born as Charles Macallum, his journey as a kid growing up in George Town to big-time Tamil Rap star teaching the value of community empowerment is surely a notable success. He further spoke on how he will shed more light into the Tamil hip hop scene and use his platform to inspire more people to reach their goals and also to stay positive. His protege, Arvind Raj, joined us during our chat too. He is an upcoming talented Tamil hip-hop artist, who is also heading Rabbit Mac’s newest record label called PLSTC Entertainment. He had nothing but great things to say about his mentor: “He is one of the most positive minded people, and with that comes great confidence, in turn, achieving success.
Next, we caught up with Malaysian Mandarin pop-duo Fuying & Sam who are not only prominent in Malaysia but has also stretched their fanbase to Taiwan. Fuying and Sam will also be speaking on how Minggu Muzik Malaysia would have been able to leverage their career if given the chance, due to the exposure that MMM’s Battle of Talents will give to budding and upcoming artists. They will also discuss how MMM is an opportunity for local talents to meet and connect among another, much like the way they were introduced. On spreading the local music scene more, they regard social media and local radio can play a big role in creating this awareness.
Priscilla Abby will speak of how her journey began with a mere handful of YouTube videos. Her persistence in showcasing her talent led her to become a professional singer today at only 21 years old. Priscilla celebrated her success all through 2018 when she stepped onstage at KL Live with a crowd of 2000 people. Priscilla will also be sharing how budding talents could leverage on Minggu Muzik Malaysia as a platform to launch their careers and create awareness amongst local brands for collaboration activities.
The finale concert of the Minggu Muzik Malaysia will also be featuring artists such as Faizal Tahir, Hujan, Ella, and Dennis Lau too.
