ROHTO is one of my favourite among all brands. The brand is manufactured in Osaka, Japan by Rohto Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd which has been producing and marketing eye drops for over 100 years. Rohto is also regarded as the number 1 brand of eye drop in the world and has been on the top in Japan for the past 40 years. Rohto Cooling Eye Drops launched in the United States in 2001. It then brought to Malaysia under Mentholatum Malaysia, which is well known with many other brands such as Hada Labo, Botanics and Oxy.
ROHTO is not something new to me. I came to know about this brand a few years back during my trip to Japan. As the weather turns cold and dry, my eyes will start to feel the burn and itchy feeling. My first product with Rohto is its hydrating eye drops. It soothed my unpleasant feeling in eyes. I got a chance to try ROHTO Cooling Eye Drops out and I have to say, I am are loving it. Here’s my experience.

The twist and snap cap present an easier way of opening and the packaging is travel-friendly too. It is easy to hold, convenient to be kept in your bag and you don’t have to be worried in case you can’t find the item in your messed up handbag. The design of the transparent bottle makes it much easier to detect any abnormalities in the eye drop solution such as the change in colour or cloudiness.
Tip: According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a good rule of thumb is to dispose of eye drops three months after opening it.
Besides that, the nozzle tip of ROHTO Cool Eye Drops is specially designed to facilitate accurate eye drop instillation without messy side dripping, which in turn could increase the risk of contamination. The drops are filtered and sterilized which allows only a drop whenever you press the bottle firmly. This also means you don’t need an assistant when it comes to using eye drop too as the patented nozzle helps you with it!

ROHTO is slightly cooler than the average eye drop for an immediate cooling sensation. Some people may find it a little difficult to tolerate as the eye drops have mint drops ingredients. This helps people who suffer from eye irritation and tiredness, as the “spicy” feeling sensation in the mint quickly turns to a comfortable experience for you. If you are seeking for an extra kick for faster-refreshed eyes, look no further than to store them in the refrigerator.
