What initially started as a concept for a food truck business eventually landed the owners of PocketBite Burrito; former IT worker, Carson and dentist, Michael to set up their new food joint right in the heart of SS15. Their passion for food and cooking got this two friends to leave their 9 to 5 jobs in order to deliver mouth-watering pocket bite Mexican food.

Why Mexican? The owners explained that it was an idea born when they were experimenting with food at Michael’s home. The first thing that came to their mind was to start with a wrap type of food, a burrito. They started making this more and sharing their food idea with their friends and family, as well as to get constructive criticism back to improve themselves. Furthermore, both owners started going around town to Mexican restaurants to fully delve into the tasting of burrito and other cuisine and what they can do to enhance their own signature style of foods.
Pocketbite Burrito SS15 opened to customers on 1st October 2018. Ever since then, many people from all walks of life entered to dine here but mostly targeted at students since INTI College is just a stone’s throw away. Perfect place for an on the go pocket bite meal before or after classes!
Pockerrito, RM 13.90
In this wrap, you get to choose either as a wrap or bowl. Option is up to you to add in rice which is the Cilantro Lime Rice. Almost similar to a concept of Subway, customers get to choose 1 out of 3 choices of meat, 1 out of 2 choices of salsa, 2 out of 6 choices of dressing;
Meat: Grilled Chicken, deep fried chicken, or braised barbeque beef
Salsa: Tomato salsa, corn salsa
Dressing: Mayonnaise, spicy mayonnaise, barbeque sauce, thousand island sauce and honey mustard.
We tried all three choices of meats with the various choices of salsa and dressing to mix it up. My favourite was the braised barbeque beef because of the tenderness that spiced well with the tomato salsa. However, it would be great that the chicken parts in the burrito were cut into smaller pieces to even out in the whole wrap but other than that, the flavours are still there.
Add on for the set will an additional RM2 which is only applicable for pockerrito and 3 piece taco.
Taco 1 Piece – RM 5.90, 3 Piece – RM 15.90
It the same choices you can make when it comes to the taco and pockerrito. Choose cheese for maximum cheesiness to your palate. With a 1 piece tacos, it can fill up your tummy as the ingredients provided are given generously. The crunchy tacos folded with the colourful fillings inside brings out an Insta-worthy shot to show off to your friends. Take the 3 piece tacos and you’ll be entitled to order the set and share with your friends. You can even try in 3 different flavours in one time. It’s sure to make you want more! Quesadillas (3 pizza slice), RM 8.90
A Mexican dish consisting of a tortilla that is filled with cheese and then grilled. In Pocketbite ss15, it features an array of ingredients such as bell peppers, grilled chicken and mix cheese. Certainly one of the dishes that I truly enjoyed here. It’s simple to eat, doesn’t make much mess and who doesn’t love cheese in their food, am I right? The wrap that we got didn’t overcook and grilled to perfection which makes the eating a joyful one.
Nachos, RM 8.90
In my opinion, nachos brings the world together. May it be as titbits or snacking it up while watching a movie, nachos here are equally amazing! In the nacho chips, you have a mixture of tomato salsa, corn salsa, cheese and 2 out of 6 dressings that were mentioned earlier. The sauces are generously given and have more to go around as a whole.
Do try their Breakfast Burrito available from 8 am to 12 pm that comes with a wrap, hash brown, chicken ham, cheese, egg and mayonnaise at only RM 6.90.
Make sure you take a picture at the outdoor area of this restaurant as there are neon lights. Perfect for Instagrammers and foodies.
