Mary Poppins Returns come back to life after more than five decades, with Julie Andrews swaying our hearts to everyone’s favourite parasol while nabbing Best Actress Oscar for her role in the original Mary Poppins movie.
The first teaser footage from the highly debuted Mary Poppins Returns debuted during Sunday’s Oscar ceremony, with Emily Blunt stepping into the role of the cheerful nanny. The new film is going to be following the same concept as it is based on P.L. Travers beloved books.
The movie is set in Depression-era London, with a now-grown Jane and Michael Banks, along with Michael’s three children, are visited by the enigmatic Mary Poppins following a personal loss. Through her unique magical skills, and with the aid of her friend Jack, she helps the family rediscover the joy and wonder missing in their lives.
The trailer also introduces Lin-Manuel Miranda as a London lamplighter named Jack and starring Meryl Streep as Mary’s cousin Topsy, and Colin Firth as a banker.
