Well, that’s enough of Marvel for now and superheroes in general, what else do we have on our movie slate this year? Well, if you have the force within you, you might have heard that the Han Solo standalone movie is coming out mid-year. Check out the first preview:
Steven Spielberg is also making an appearance this year with Ready Player One, which by the trailer looks like an amalgamation of every video game character ever.
Talking about video games, this year we also get the latest video game adaptation in the form of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, which is a reboot that follows the latest Square Enix game storyline. Featuring a grittier Lara, and a more action-packed Tomb Raider. Expect a lot of puzzles solving, and probably a lot of stunt gymnastics:
In the Sci-fi department, there are a few movies up Hollywood’s sleeves:
Annihilation
Based on the books from the Southern Reach trilogy, this movie sees alien events, mixed with some of the supernatural. Features Natalie Portman, Thessa Thompson
Alita: Battle Angel
James Cameron also makes a comeback this year with Alita: Battle Angel, which is based on the manga of the same name. Stars Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly and Masherlala Ali.
Well, with that exhaustive list, I am sure there is a movie out there for everyone, and while there are many more movies not listed here, we are sure of one thing and that is we will be flooded with many good movies this year.
