Netflix Goes All Out With Altered Carbon

Netflix is taking 2018 by the reins as it went all out during the recent International Consumer Event Show (CES), with its unique booth promoting their upcoming series Altered Carbon, based on the 2002 novel of the same name by Richard K Morgan.

In this booth, it is a meticulously made pretend exhibition area which showcases “sleeve” products which in this show are bodies you can transfer your consciousness until after your original body expires. this means in a sense you can achieve immortality by continuously transferring your consciousness.  The booth encases a male and a female specimen as part of its promotion with its cleverly placed tagline ” No body lives forever”.

The premise of the story portrays a future 300 years from now whereby a dead soldier named Takeshi Kovacs has been brought back to a new body, whereby new bodies can be implanted with a device called a Stack. kovacs was killed on a distant planet and is now brought back to Earth to help Earth’s wealthiest man, Laurens Bancroft, investigate his own death.

These types of new immersive booths are picking up in popularity in sci-fi conventions in New York and San Diego. Here is the trailer below if you are interested in the series.
