Netflix’s Bright Start’s Off Dim According To Critics

by Natasha Christopher

When there’s a big movie star acting like Will Smith, the movie bound to be a blockbuster hit as usual. Not for this new Netflix’s Bright $90 million budget, the top critics savagely gave 17 percent of positive reviews according to RottenTomatoes.com. “That old Hollywood standby, the venerable buddy cop movie, may have met its anguished demise this holiday season,” wrote Mark Kennedy of the Associated Press. “Will Smith just killed it.” YIKES!

The Will Smith vehicle, which mixes Lord of the Rings-style mythical creatures into a tale about Los Angeles police officers,
embark on a routine night patrol that will alter the future of their world as they know it. Battling both their own personal differences as well as an onslaught of enemies, they must work together to protect a young female elf and a thought-to-be-forgotten relic, which, in the wrong hands, could destroy everything.

The movie will be available for streaming online today and fans are dying to see what’s the hype this movie is all about. It’s part of Netflix’s attempt to build its own library of programming of all sorts — big-budget pictures, small documentaries, sitcoms, dramas, reality shows.

I believe the biggest critic is the viewers itself. So comment and tell us what you think.
