When it’s December, you only have two things on your mind – Christmas and New Year! Before that, can someone tell me how did time fly by so fast? Feels like it was just yesterday I was crafting down my 2017 new year’s resolution (which I quit the next day after). I have no regrets as to how my 2017 has penned down for me because it only means better year ahead.
The nightlife in Kuala Lumpur here is something everyone shouldn’t miss out. Combined with the diverse culture and extravagant festivities all rolled into one, the heart of the city is where the party gon’ be lit!

1.KLCC Park
KLCC Park is just right outside Suria KLCC, frequently visited by travellers from around the world. This place is often crowded during New Year’s Eve celebration because you can view some of the most stunning and colourful fireworks. To top it all off, you can take a stroll in the park with your loved ones and listen to live music performance to rock in 2018 with style!
2. Dataran Merdeka
On New Year’s Eve, Dataran Merdeka offers a breathtaking celebration in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. It is located right next to the Sultan Abdul Samad building and the Malaysian flag waving patriotically on a nearby flagpole. Surround yourself with traditional dances, live vocals, marching band and of course the majestic fireworks when the clock strikes midnight at this historical figure.
3. TREC KL
Taste, Relish, Experience, Celebrate(TREC) is what makes this the best spot to joyfully awaits 2018 coming. Head down with your friends to TREC KL, the trendy nightlife hotspots in Kuala Lumpur. The place is filled with pubs, bars, restaurants and nightclubs. You certainly don’t want to miss out the theme parties to welcome 2018. Head down to The White Party theme party by Le Noir, a five-storey building with different music genres on each floor, including a rooftop for you to dance and watch the fireworks display from afar.
4. Publika
A spot where it is filled with arts and entertainment for people to enjoy too. To usher in the New Year, the organizers of Publika will bring in live performances through the night. The live performances consist of the popular local acts, from rock to jazz. Sometimes there are food trucks nearby. Take part in games and win prizes. You’ll be able to ring in 2018 while singing Auld Lang Syne with everyone.
5. Desa Park City
If you are not the crowd-pleaser type, Desa Park City offers a more laid-back and relaxed place to bring your family to. Be sure to book your tables early for dinner as the seats are limited on new year’s eve. This place is also a pet-friendly place, and you could even cycle on the bicycle pathways. Not to mention, the stunning fireworks too.
