What do you do when you have some time to spare? Some resort to picking up a book to read, some start binge-watching TV series, some get creative and do crafts, while some prefer to snore away in bed. Whatever you choose to do, hobbies are meant to calm your mind and rejuvenate your soul amongst the hustle and bustle of life. For some, these hobbies turn into a full-time passion. Jimmy Choo started designing as a hobby before he got immersed in the world of fashion. Now, he has built an empire for himself with his name as a brand known worldwide. Compared to us normal folks, celebrities and influential business tycoons live very public, complicated lives that it almost feels like with more money and fame, the weirder they get. Take a look at Lady Gaga or Nicki Minaj for instance. Have you ever thought about what these not-so-normal people do as a hobby? Let’s check out these celebrities!
1.Johnny Depp
Captain Jack Sparrow at your service! Depp is known to play peculiar and eccentric roles in a movie and is often praised for his diversity in adapting to a role. However, as odd as he is onscreen, turns out in real life he is the same too. Believe it or not, he collects and loves to play with Barbies dolls!
SAY WHAT NOW? This strange hobby of his helps Depp takes his mind off more serious matters. He is so into the hobby that he owns limited editions of Barbie dolls and also has dolls based on Beyonce, High School Musical cast and Elvis. Of course, “Depp” down we still you all the same.
2. Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie is known as one of the sexiest and most attractive people in the world. As the ambassador for the United Nations for Refugees and being an excellent actress onscreen, there’s another area in which she’s sharpening up her hobby from young. Angelina Jolie collects daggers – that’s real Lara Croft for you. Jolie got her first dagger when she was at the tender age of 11. What started as a gift from her mother soon turned into an obsession as she started collecting them. Jolie is also pretty talented in whirling and rotating the knife a few times in her hands as seen in Conan O’ Brien’s nightly talk show. Now that is a lady I definitely don’t want to mess with, although the thought of being slayed by Angelina Jolie sounds like a dream come true!
3. Ryan Gosling
Often seen playing the role of the American sweetheart, including in the famous romantic film The Notebook, Ryan Gosling is one of the hottest man alive. With this masculine features, buff, muscular physique, and cool demeanour, it doesn’t seem to make picked the habit up when he was on set of a movie of Lars and the Real Girl, where he was in a room full elderly woman who were knitting. They showed him the techniques and it turned out to be one of the most relaxing activities he had ever done.
Anyone that wants an oddly shaped, off-putting scarf, Gosling is the go-to person. I’ll vouch for that scarf anytime, honey!
4. David Beckham
Who can forget this World’s Sexiest Man alive, family man and the ultimate dad/husband goals? David Beckham rose to fame through his talent and skills in football.
Funny enough, he has an obsession with keeping inanimate objects in straight lines and in even numbers. He loves to align just with anything to its order. He claims to have thrown one out of three cans of soft drinks in his fridge just so it could be an even number. To that extent?! Besides that, he buys 30 pairs of identical Calvin Klein underpants every fortnight and lines up his shirts according to colour. Talk about Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, I thought getting peeved at a person’s non-matching socks is bad enough. Jokes aside, this only goes to show that David Beckham is imperfect after all.
5. Mila Kunis
That Mila girl! This Ukrainian born star is married to her first onscreen kiss, Ashton Kutcher. Before she became a certified Hollywood screen goddess, Mila Kunis loved gaming. She played World of Warcraft (WOW), a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) in particular. She would spend her time playing WOW so much that she had to give herself a break from the game, otherwise she’d get too addicted. Now that it’s revealed to the public, you can hear a lot of gamers cheering for this girl!
6. Snoop Dogg
This certainly ain’t no shizzle my nizzle type of hobby that Snoop Dogg does. It is quite the opposite actually. As he recently changed his persona to Snoop Lion (rappers and their name, do they ever make sense?), it’s leaked to the mass that he is a football coach in his past time. Being a certified football coach, Snoop Dogg (or Lion) has served as head coach for both his sons’ youth football teams. I’ll definitely get pumped up if he would start spitting some rhymes to build motivation amongst the team members. After all, what’s rap without some Snoop’s goodness?
7. Mike Tyson
He reigned as the undisputed world heavyweight champion and holds the record as the youngest boxer to win a heavyweight title at 20 years old. Tyson won his first 19 professional fights by knockout, 12 of them in the first round. Ain’t nobody gon’ mess with Tyson. Except for his love for birds. Now, don’t get confused. Mike Tyson is a skilled and practised pigeon racer. The former heavyweight champion attends a pigeon pageant in Ontario, California, every year, which shows off the bred birds at their best. He grooms and trains the pigeon to be the best “racer”. He even encourages the young generation to take on this step. I guess that’s what retirement does to you eh? Now we all know Tyson really do love his birds. *smirks*
No matter how rich and famous these celebrities are, they prove to the world that they are just ordinary human beings. Just when you thought watching cat videos on the internet for hours is weird, right? You’re welcome 🙂
