Don’t be fooled by his humble and naive expression, this man is actually an ambitious entrepreneur! At only 28 years old, Ng Shu Yih, or more commonly known as SY, has successfully opened up two branches of Double C cybercafe. The first branch in Cheras officially launched in June 2016 while the second outlet in Ss15, Subang Jaya opened its doors to customers in February this year. Ss15 is a famous business hub with multiple office buildings, encircled with colleges and universities, and littered with hipster and trendy cafes. Situated right in the bustling streets of Ss15, Double C is a modern cybercafe that caters to mostly millennials.
An avid gamer since young, the hobby pushed SY into running a cybercafé business of his own. He has a background in Electronic Engineering, and had always wished to incorporate his academic experience into his love for gaming together.

Double C in SS15, Subang Jaya
Ss15 is notorious for being a den to a lot of cybercafes, but SY believes Double C stands out from the rest due to its strategic location – just a stone’s throw away from Inti Subang and Taylor’s College. The regular, frequent customers consist of mainly students.
“There are about 60 personal computers here with premium gaming chairs, AK Racing which are priced at RM1,100 each,” said SY. The multicolour mechanical keyboards are all from Armageddon, while the CPUs operate with GTX 1050 TI; a quality graphic card that allows high-speed performance and zero lags while gaming.
“Customers return because of the newest products that we have to offer, but it’s also because of a famous game; PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds (PUBG) that requires higher CPU specifications that only Double C possesses, in the vicinity,” SY added.
More impressively, Double C Cheras has a local professional team of DOTA 2 players, the WarriorsGaming.Unity come and train their skills frequently. The team actively joins competitions and championships and is ranked at #6 in Southeast Asia, and #36 worldwide, and just December last year had presented Malaysia in the Boston Major 2016 in the United States.
Open seven days a week, with a cut off time at midnight; the fee at Double C is RM3 per hour. The membership requires you a RM100 charge for an extra RM20 add-on for free, and you will only be charged RM2.80 per hour. Sometimes during public holidays, Double C even offers extra bonus add-ons that only members have the privilege of getting a hold of.
