Good Friends Café (No Pork)
As warm as its name, Good Friends Café shows many quality of a good restaurant – comfortable, fun place to catch up, and good quality food with decent pricing. The owner, Boon Hian Lee started this café one and a half years ago in Ara Damansara. Looking at the small space they have, he and his then partner decided to take it up a notch and build Good Friends Café in SS15, Subang Jaya. Since then, students and families started flocking to the café. Surrounded by universities and offices, you can find people of all ages frequenting the cafe.
Not only it’s pleasantly welcoming, we were delighted to find that Good Friends maintains the strictest hygiene and cleanliness practice throughout the restaurant, proven by the well-deserved grade ‘A’ awarded by Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya (MPSJ).
Mr Boon assures the food is fresh, contains no preservatives and all sauces are made from scratch. “No fancy ingredients, no preservatives, just natural fresh food for our customers. That is our philosophy,” said Mr Boon. It might not be easy, but customers’ happiness is the fulfilling reward he seeks. With such guarantee, we were thrilled to indulge!
Tamarind Prawn Spaghetti, RM24
This is an exotic, Asian-French fusion meal that entices all the senses. Fresh, sweet prawns are cooked to perfection and enriched in Tomyum flavours. The black and white sesame seeds add a small crunch in between bites, balancing out the strong Tomyum taste.
Chicken Rice Roulade, RM25
We dare bet you’ve never seen a chicken rice served like this before. The fragrant chicken rice is wrapped with chicken meat on top, with the traditional sides of bean sprouts, cucumber, tomatoes, and soup, along with the not-so-traditional spicy pineapple chilli sauce. This is the more elegant way of indulging a comfort, heart-filled chicken rice.
Chicken Burger, RM28
Tender grilled chicken thigh paired with grilled pineapple and honey mustard sauce, oh so lovely. Served on Brioche buns, the dish comes with triple-cooked fries and house salad. The sweet, tangy pineapple goes really well with the succulent meat. You’ll be happy knowing that the Brioche buns are freshly made in-house!
Ultimate French Toast, RM18
Claimed to be one of the top best-sellers of dessert here, the French toast is topped with orange sauce, caramelised bananas and a dash of raisins and chopped almonds. If you have a sweet tooth, this is an absolute must-try! Better yet, Good Friends offers a tea time promotion from 3PM to 6PM where you can get slice of a cake with either black coffee or tea for only RM10!
