EXA Global has opened EXA Outpost, its first hyper-reality family entertainment centre in SetiaWalk, Puchong.

Touted to be one of the pioneers in VR entertainment industry in South East Asia, the new VR theme park also marks the first of several other upcoming establishments that EXA Global has planned to launch throughout the world.

So what is the EXA SetiaWalk Outpost hype really all about? The easiest way is to imagine a game of laser tag but played using virtual reality (VR); it is a mixture of both physical and hyper-reality experiences that holds a fully immersive, wireless free roaming movie-like concept – reminiscent of sci-fi movies like Starship Troopers, if you’re familiar.

A Sci-fi shooting game involving multi-players of four in a closed room, troopers will firstly be placed in EXA Outpost’s Ingress room for a briefing on their mission and safety conditions, where they will be suited up with the EXA Gear – player-wearable technology consisting of backpacks, guns, headset, batteries, and a charging system.

According to EXA global chief executive officer Richard Lee, “engagement is the core of every project being designed by the team – to get players involved in the technology, to be part of the story and experience the game as a team”.

Lee also added that there are more instalments and enhancements to be made in the near future to allow for a more immersive experience for their players.
