Vivo Becomes Official Sponsor for 2018 & 2022 FIFA World Cup

Who doesn’t love football? A fascinating sport loved by millions, the FIFA World Cup is well known for being one of the top sporting competitions the world has seen and appeals to an audience on a global scale. Vivo, global smartphone brand has announced that they will be sponsoring the Federation of Association Football (FIFA) for the next 6 years, which includes the 2018 FIFA World Cup hosted by Russia and 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar as well as the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 and 2021.

This 6-year cooperation will see the Vivo logo appearing during every match on field advertising boards, event tickets, press release backdrops and other key promotional areas. The FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 will mark the start of Viva and FIFA’s cooperation, which will begin on June 17th.

Vivo’s journey in expanding into regions within Southeast Asia began in 2014. Deploying localized product and marketing strategies, Vivo saw rapid growth and was strongly embraced by local consumers. Vivo has continued to invest in R&D, and established 7 major research centers across China and the United States. Vivo has also used sports marketing to increase brand awareness in international markets.

Vivo became the title sponsor of the Indian Premier League (IPL), a sporting association that is highly influential in British Common Wealth countries and India in 2015. A year following that, Vivo began its strategic partnership with NBA China as its Official Mobile Handset Sponsor, inviting NBA superstar Stephen Curry to become the product ambassador for Vivo’s flagship Xplay6.

For the coming FIFA World Cups, Vivo seeks to earn itself even more attention on the international stage.
